Section High School places 1st in math competition
During the recent Jackson County Math Competition, Section High School placed first in several divisions.
The Lions brought home first place in Geometry, Algebra 1, Algebra 2 and Pre-Calculus.
The Geometry team consisted of Chris Bedard, who also placed 1st in the individual division; Molly Necklaus, who tied for 3rd place in the individual division; Jessie Whitehead, who tied for 3rd place in the individual division; and Andrea Warner and Olivia Necklaus.
The Algebra 1 team consisted of Luke Swinford, who placed 1st in the individual division with a perfect score; Piercen Saint, who placed 2nd in the individual division; Millie Gentry who placed 3rd in the individual division; and Kaelyn Browning.
The Algebra 2 team consisted of Addison Hancock, who placed 1st in the individual division; Preston Dover, who placed 2nd in the individual division; Tyler Green, who placed 3rd in the individual division; and Jackson LeRoy and Juliana Varner.
The Pre-Calculus team consisted of Leo Chaparro, who placed 1st in the individual division; Maggie Bonds, who placed 2nd in the individual division; and Jasmine Jonathan.
Benjamin Prather also placed first in the open division.
