The first annual CEO EXPO was held in 2011 at Earnest Pruett Center of Technology (EPCOT). Over 600 ninth graders from every school in Jackson County participated.

A Stand your Ground Hearing was held in the murder case of Aaron Morris Nix today in front of Judge John H. Graham. Nix was shot on April 7, 2023, at a local Mexican restaurant by the Defendant, Jerry “J.J.” Carl Hicks, Jr.

Jackson Co. Coast Guard Veteran receives help from other Veterans
Veterans Helping Veterans learned about Yeoman Courtney through the Jackson County Veterans Affairs Office. The Veterans of VFW Post 6073 and American Legion Post 30 responded to fund and build the access ramp for 37-year-old Yeoman Courtney.
Budget amendments approved
During the recent joint work session and council meeting held by the Scottsboro City Council, members discussed a budget amendment for the Police Department. Chief of Police Ron Latimer stated that in May 2022 the police Tahoes were ordered.
