Winfred E. Evans, of Section, passed away recently. Graveside services were held on Saturday, April 18, 2026 from the Langston Cemetery. Interment followed.

Mr. Evans is survived by his children, Rodney E. (Rebecca) Evans, Brian (Christine) Evans, Michael Dwane (Courtney) Evans, Elizabeth (Johnny Sheridan) Evans, Shannon (Jason) Weekly, Shawn (Olga) Thomas; grandchildren, Cody (Shana) Evans, Ryley (Alisha) Evans, Kelly (Jacob Bradford) Evans, Shyloe Evans, Emilie Evans, Olivia Evans, Jenny (Adam Newton) Evans, Nessie (Colette) Weekly, Olga Jane (Michael) Swafford; great grandchildren, Liam Evans, Nevaeh Evans, Naomi Evans, Amelia Evans, Emmarie Clawson, Addison Bradford , Copelynn Bradford, Deja Evans and Dejan Evans.

Mr. Evans was preceded in death by Lewis “Bud” Evans, Mary Belle Carter Evans , Wannie Evans , Johnny Evans , Dorothy Galimore, Marylou Wallace , Anna Moore  and Inez Evans.

To his family, he was a cherished Grandfather, a devoted Dad, a loving Brother, an uncle, and a real Friend! He was a Fisher of Men, a wonderful gardener, an avid bird watcher, extremely knowledgeable, had a passion for genealogy, and known by all as Big Daddy.

His departure leaves an immeasurable void in our lives and in the hearts of all who had the privilege of knowing and learning from him.

Winfred lived a life rich in love, wisdom, and joy, leaving behind a legacy that will forever be treasured.

He will be deeply missed for his unwavering strength, his infectious laughter, and the countless moments of warmth and guidance he shared. We are grieving his loss, yet we find comfort in knowing he has met our Maker and Father in heaven, along with all of his family before him.
