Vicki L. Pickett, age 72 of Scottsboro, passed away on Saturday, January 10, 2026. Funeral services were held on Wednesday, January 14, 2026 from the Scottsboro Funeral Home Chapel. Timothy Pierce officiated. Interment followed in the Liberty Cemetery.
Mrs. Pickett is survived by her sister, Connie Dianne Pickett; aunt, Mavis Lusk Miller; uncle, Andrew Newton Lusk; as well as numerous cousins and lifelong friends Eleanor Bailey Hay, Kathryn Neal-Morris, and Charles Wayne Brazelton.
Born in Camp Le Jueune, North Carolina November 24. 1953 to Vada Annis Lusk Pickett and Wonnie Bert Pickett of Scottsboro, Alabama.
Mrs. Pickett was preceeded in death by both her paternal grandparents, Dora Haymon Pickett and John Thadeus Pickett; and maternal grandparents, Don (Dawn) Proctor Lusk and Robert Herbert Lusk and fiancé Jimmy Harlon Holt.
Vicki graduated from Scottsboro High School in 1972; she belonged to several clubs while in high school and was distinguished by National Honor Society and Gold Seal award.
Vicki graduated from Northeast Alabama State University in 1974 with an Associate in Science degree. She was distinguished by induction into Who’s Who in American Junior Colleges for scholastic excellence.
Vicki transferred to the University of Alabama in Tuscaloosa where she continued her scholastic achievements by induction into Phi Theta Kappa Honor Society.
Vicki was involved in many clubs on campus and served as a volunteer for CASA/GAL association for children and was a member of Kappa Alpha Theta sorority.
Vicki graduated from Alabama in May 1977 with a Bachelor of Science degree in Commerce and Business Administration. She was distinguished by graduating cum laude in Human Resource Management.
Upon graduation, Vicki joined the Westinghouse Corporation with management positions in Reform, Alabama, Nashville, Tennessee, and Owensboro, Kentucky.
Vicki enjoyed traveling with friends and family to beach and mountain destinations. Her favorites were Destin, Hawaii, England, Scotland and Wales.
