UBC hosting “Forgotten to Fulfilled”

Unclaimed Baggage’s Reclaimed for Good, the Charity Foundation of UBC, recently launched the “Forgotten to Fulfilled” Holiday Toy Drive in honor of two local children. This event marked the start of a community-wide effort to bring joy to children spending their Christmas in the hospital.
The drive is being held in special honor of two local children, Vaida, who is courageously battling Niemann-Pick Type C, and Tucker, who is bravely fighting B-cell lymphoma. Their strength has inspired an outpouring of support and a movement of compassion across the community.

The toy drive will run through December 15, 2025. Donations of brand-new games such as board games, card games, travel games, puzzles and activity sets for children ages 3 through the teen years are being collected. Organizers note that plush toys, wrapped items, and used games cannot be accepted.

All donated games will be delivered to Huntsville Children’s Hospital and Children’s of Alabama in Birmingham, providing comfort and entertainment to children of all ages during their hospital stays. Organizers say each donation serves as a reminder to young patients that they are seen, loved and supported.

Drop-off locations include Unclaimed Baggage Guest Services, High Country Toyota and Harbin Ford/Chevrolet.

The initiative is receiving special support from Mark Herndon, former drummer for the band Alabama, and his wife, Leah Seawright, who are helping champion the cause.

Organizers say the goal of the “Forgotten to Fulfilled” drive is not only to provide toys, but to bring moments of hope and distraction to children facing serious illnesses during the holiday season.

Community members are encouraged to participate and help ensure that no child feels forgotten this Christmas.

Our thoughts and prayers remain with Vaida and Tucker and their families during the holiday season and throughout their battle.
