Thomas Glen Cardwell, 69, of Scottsboro,, passed away on May 25, 2026. Funeral services were held on Thursday, May 28, 2026 from the Scottsboro Funeral Home Chapel. Brother James Ledwell officiated.
Mr. Cardwell is survived by his children, Jeffrey Cardwell, Amy (Jacob) Waits, and Kelly (Chris Cooper) Griggs; and grandchildren, Nicholas Anders, Adam Cooper, and Annabella Cooper, each of whom brought him immense joy.
Mr. Cardwell was preceded in death by his parents; his sisters, Carolyn (Knox) Bray and Patsy Cardwell; his brother, William Cardwell; and his granddaughter, Kaleigh Cooper.
Born in Harvey, Illinois, to Mary Lou and Sherman Cardwell, Thomas was known for his deep love of Alabama football and Atlanta Braves baseball, and for the devotion he showed to his children and grandchildren.
He was a proud father and a doting grandfather whose family meant everything to him.
Thomas’s legacy lives on in the family who loved him deeply and in the memories they will carry forward — of ballgames shared, stories told, and the steady love of a father and grandfather who meant the world to them.
