The Scottsboro City Council, with a 3-1 vote, recently appointed Patrick Stewart to fill the Council Place 1 seat. The seat had recently been left vacant after Councilman Ralph Dawe resigned for health reasons.
Immediately following the vote, Stewart was sworn in by City Attorney Stephen Kennamer with his wife, Lauren, at his side holding the Bible.
Stewart previously served on the Scottsboro City Council in the Place 2 seat for eight years. He served as council president for six of those eight years.
