Linda Jo Brown, age 82 of Woodville, passed away on June 18, 2026. At her request, no funeral services were held. However, her family, extended family and friends gathered to honor her memory with a Celebration of Life on Sunday, June 21, 2026 at her beloved log cabin.
Mrs. Brown is survived by her husband, George W. Brown; sons, Terry (Rhonda) Brown and Hardy Brown; grandchildren, Heather (Marty) Summerford, David (Kelley) Brown, Audrey Brown, Niki (Matt Pruitt) Martin, Melinda (Clint) Martin, Randy Jr. (Mackenzie) Brown and Alyssa (Hunter Bradley) Brown; great grandchildren, Haley Summerford, Wesley Summerford, Zac Thompson, Brice Thompson, Pierce Goddard, Fisher Brown, Ellie Jones, Ivy Gifford, Nathaniel Rozell, J.J. Thompson, Heidi Martin, Gage Jett, Iris Lindsey, Sawyer Brown, Oliver Brown; and great great grandchildren, Emmalyn Bryson, Camden McGehee, Kaiden McGehee, Garrett Wallace, Kinley Summerford, Paisley Thompson, Star Rozell and Dutton Thompson.
Mrs. Brown was preceded in death by her son, Randy George Brown; parents, Joseph D. and Willa Mae Johnson; sister, Wanda Joy Johnson; and one younger brother.
Mrs. Brown was born in Eustis, Florida on September 3, 1944.
She wed the love of her life, and spent nearly 66 beautiful years with him, on December 16, 1960.
Mrs. Brown built a family rooted in devotion and strength, who like her, loves deeply and truly. Mrs. Brown always told her family members, “ I love you a bushel and a peck and a hug around the neck.”
She most recently shared this from her favorite television show Little House on the Prairie “ Remember me with smiles and laughter, for that is how I will remember you all. If you can only remember me with tears, then don’t remember me at all.”
