Marsha Edmonds Deerman, age 78, passed away on Wednesday, September 9, 2026. A Graveside service will be held on Saturday, September 26, 2026 from the Pleasant View Cemetery.
Born in Fort Payne, Alabama, Marsha was the daughter of the late Calvin Edmonds and Georgia Edmonds.
She was preceded in death by her beloved husband of 44 years, Larry Deerman; and siblings, Shirley Deerman, Don Edmonds and Deb Edmonds.
Marsha was a devoted Christian whose faith was an important part of her life.
She spent 32 dedicated years serving others through her work with the Employment Security Commission before retiring.
But of all she accomplished throughout her life, nothing meant more to Marsha than her family.
She was a loving, caring, thoughtful and constant presence in the lives of those who loved her.
Her love was steady, unconditional and never-ending.
She was the kind of mother who was always there—a source of comfort, strength and encouragement through every season of life.
Her family could always count on her, and there was never a question of how deeply they were loved.
Marsha leaves behind her son, Michael Deerman; daughter, Lindsey Deerman Tolbert and husband, Jason; and her beloved grandson, Cooper Lee Tolbert, whom she loved with everything she had.
Cooper held an especially precious place in his grandmother’s heart.
The bond they shared was something truly beautiful, and the love she had for him was immeasurable.
She is also survived by her siblings, Bob Edmonds and wife, Jenny, and Charlie Edmonds and wife, Betty; along with numerous extended family members and friends who were blessed to know her and experience her kindness and love.
Marsha’s family finds comfort in knowing that she is no longer in pain and has been reunited with her beloved Larry.
She would often say that when she got to Heaven, she would get new legs.
Her family can only imagine that she has those new legs now—and that she and Larry are together again, perhaps even cutting a rug like they never missed a beat.
Although the hearts of those who loved her are broken, they remain grateful for every moment, every lesson, every hug, every laugh and every memory she gave them.
Her presence was a constant in their lives, and the love she poured into her family will continue to be felt for generations to come.
She was deeply loved.
She was deeply cherished. And she will be deeply missed.
Her family takes comfort in knowing this is not goodbye forever, but simply goodbye for now.
Until they meet again in Heaven, Marsha’s love will remain a part of them—steady, unconditional and never-ending.
