Marie Letson, age 88 of Skyline, Alabama passed away on Saturday, September 20, 2025. A Celebration of Life was held on Wednesday, September 24, 2025 from the Scottsboro Funeral Home Chapel. Bro. Blake Gifford, Bro. Darrell Gray and Bro. Frank Letson. officiated. A graveside service followed at the Skyline Cemetery with Bro. Royce Cornelison officiating. from 5-8 p.m.
Mrs. Letson is survived by her children, Frank (Barbara) Letson; Tina (Rickey) Miller and Keith (Melinda) Letson; grandchildren, Frankie (Chastity) Letson, Michael (Terri) Letson, Daniel (Ami) Miller, Caleb Miller, Jacob Miller, Derek (Stephanie) Letson and Megan (Coty) Stapler ; along with 15 great grandchildren, 5 great great grandchildren, 1 great great grandchild on the way, and many nieces, nephews, and friends.
Mrs. Letson was preceded in death by her husband, Curtis Letson; granddaughter, Ashley Letson; parents, Jimmy Talley and Maude Talley; two sisters and four brothers.
Born December 10, 1936, in Jackson County, Alabama, Marie lived a life devoted to her family, her faith, and the simple joys that made each day meaningful. She married the love of her life, Curtis Letson, on December 15, 1952, beginning a legacy of love that grew as she became a devoted mother to Frank, Tina, and Keith — and later a cherished grandmother, great-grandmother, and great-great-grandmother. She excelled in every one of these roles
A woman of deep faith, Marie received the Holy Ghost on January 26, 1959, and was a member of Skyline Free Holiness Church. Marie loved to laugh, but she also loved to travel, it didn’t matter if it was to St. George or to Scottsboro. She especially loved to go fishing.
