Louise Weaver Lassiter, age 88, passed away on September 17, 2025. Funeral services were held on Friday, September 30, 2025 from the Grant Memorial Chapel. Interment followed in the Kelly Chapel Cemetery.
Mrs. Lassiter is survived by two sisters, Ellen (David) Ridgeway and Linda May Miller; one brother, MacArthur (Judy) Weaver ; two daughters, Linda (Jimmy) Bodine and Glenda Brown; six grandchildren, Melinda Parks, Beverly (Brian) Meeks, Rodney (Amber) Bodine, Bradley Stevenson, Jamie (Jeff) May, Todd (Kate) Brown; nine great-grandchildren, Mackenzie (Klaus) Simon, Mackayla (Joseph) White, Madison (Vance) Rickman, Dalton Parks, Ty Bodine, Elli Bodine, Colt Brown, Carter Brown, Grayson May; three great-great grandchildren, Hudson White, Hallie White, and Tripp Simon; along with many nieces and nephews.
Mrs. Lassiter was preceded in death by her parents; two sisters, Glenda Faye Weaver and Helen McLendon ; three brothers, Wendell Davis, Franklin Weaver and Charles Weaver; one son, Larry Stevenson; one son-in-law, Richard Brown; and her husband, Michael Lassiter.
She was born in 1937 to Otis and Nancy Weaver of Grant. Louise lived her entire life in the Grant community. She worked for several companies in the area, including the Benham Mill, Grant Manufacturing, Kappler Industries, and the Burlington Factory. Her love of hospitality and fellowshipping at her table with her home cooked meals was known by all. As a young adult she had been the cook at a small cafe in Grant.
Louise accepted Jesus Christ as her Savior at a young age and sought to serve Him, fellowshipping at Grace Fellowship Baptist Church and New Home Church of God. She brought joy to all who knew her, remained loyal to her family and lifelong friends and ready to adopt new friends as her own family. Louise had a deep connection to God’s creation in her vegetable, fruit and flower gardens, giving away her produce even in the last days of her life. She witnessed to her Lord’s saving grace to the end, assuring those she loved that she would “see us in heaven.”
