Laudra Robert “Sonny” Hodges, age 83, passed away on October 23, 2025. Funeral services will be held at a later date.
Mr. Hodges is survived by his sisters, Carole Hodges (Dr. David Campbell) Campbell and Mary Charles Hodges (Robert Wayne Parks)Parks; his daughters, Angela Hodges and Heather Hodges Stark; his nephews, Jeremy Campbell and Robert Parks; his grandchildren, Haley Solace and Phoebe Stark; Lauren, Katie, and Lucas Hodges; great-grandson, Mykah Peters, along with cousins and other extended family.
Mr. Hodges was preceded in death by his parents, Charles and Frances Hodges; his wife of 58 years, Joy Garner Hodges; his first grandchild, Michael Stark; and his niece, Lisa Pritchett.
Born on October 22, 1942, in Tampa, Florida. Sonny served as an officer in the National Guard and built a distinguished career with the Federal Aviation Administration. After retiring from the FAA, he returned to Scottsboro, where he continued to share his passion for aviation as an airport manager and flight instructor at Scottsboro Airport. He was a man of faith, dedication, and an avid Bama football fan.
