On Wednesday, June 17, 2026 Jackson County School Superintendent Jason Davidson released a statement in response to recent allegations that a registered sex offender had been allowed to volunteer at Skyline School. In part, the statement said the allegations were under investigation by the Superintendent, the Jackson County Board of Education, and the Jackson County Sheriff’s office.
Later that evening a second statement was released from Jackson County Schools stating that a teacher and basketball coach from the school system had been placed on administrative leave while an investigation is conducted.
The second statement did not specify whether it was related to the first press release issued earlier in the day.
