The Jackson County Courthouse Annex on Liberty Lane recently held a public open house to showcase the new facility.
The new annex was designed to serve as a one-stop location for several county administrative offices, while also improving parking availability and handicapped accessibility for Jackson County residents.
The Jackson County Courthouse Annex is located at 205 Liberty Lane in Scottsboro and will officially open for business on January 5, 2026. Offices that will be housed in the new building include the Jackson County Revenue Commission, Jackson County Mapping and Appraisal, Jackson County Cooperative Extension, Jackson County Community Action and a portion of the Jackson County Probate office, as well as the State of Alabama Driver’s license division.
Due to the move, several offices will close temporarily during the Christmas and New Year holidays.
The Jackson County Revenue Commission, Jackson County Mapping and Appraisal and the Jackson County Probate office will be closed on December 25 and will reopen on January 5 at the new Liberty Lane location.
The Jackson County Cooperative Extension office, currently located on Highway 72, closed on December 19 to prepare for the move.
The Community Action Agency of Northeast Alabama closed on December 24 and will reopen on January 5 at the new location. The agency will remain available by phone during the closure.
The Alabama Drivers license division closed on December 23 and will re-open at the new location on January 5.
