Hugh Mosley Roberts, 97 years old of Scottsboro, passed away on Saturday, June 27, 2026. Funeral services were held on Monday, June 29, 2026 from the Scottsboro Funeral Home Chapel. Rev. David Moorman officiated. Interment followed in the Pinehaven Memorial Gardens.
Mr. Roberts is survived by his daughters, Lynda R. Johnson, Nelda R. (Philip) Gilbert and Anita R. (David) Jarrell; sons, Alvie Roberts and James Roberts; as well as several grandchildren, great grandchildren, great great grandchildren, nieces and nephews.
Mr. Roberts was preceded in death by his wife of 48 years Adena Grider Roberts; parents, Hugh Verdie Roberts and Minnie Mae Jones Roberts; son, Terry E. Roberts; daughter in law, Linda Roberts; great grandson, Holden Beck; and son in law, Larry Johnson.
Hugh worked for Burlington Industries, Revere Copper and Brass, and Norandal. He was an avid beekeeper.
He also loved to garden, crochet, and play the piano. He attended Center Point Baptist Church where he taught Sunday School and played the piano for various choirs, quartets, and churches throughout Jackson County.
The family is thankful to God for the gift of his long life and for the love and strength he showed as an example to us all.
