Gary Van Johnson, age 74 of Gurley, passed away on Tuesday, March 24, 2026. A Graveside Service was held on Thursday, March 26, 2026 from the Gurley City Cemetery.
Mr. Johnson is survived by his wife, Freda Johnson; and cousins, Becky (Keith) Barnett, Elaine (Larry) Lowe, Johnny Locke, and Joy (Jerry) Anderson.
Mr. Johnson was preceded in death by his parents, Van Johnson and Lola Mae Johnson; and his sister, Lynda Darnell.
Gary was a Tool and Die maker at PPG in Huntsville and served in the Alabama National Guard.
He loved his country and was a true patriot. He also was an avid golfer, playing often at Goose Pond Colony.
