The Jackson County EMA is transitioning to a new and improved emergency notification system to better serve the community.
What’s changing?
The Jackson County EMA is moving from CodeRED to SirCom Smart Alerts, Provided by HQE Systems to improve how residents receive weather alerts, emergency notifications and critical public safety information.
CodeRED will continue to run alongside the new system during the transition, so there will be no interruption in service.
Current CodeRED subscribers can access their information in the new system by visiting the Recipient Account Portal. From there, users can review and update their contact details, adjust notification preferences and opt in to receive additional weather alerts.
The mass notification contact number is 256-222-4057.
What should you do?
If you were already signed up for CodeRED, your information has been transferred.
However, residents are strongly encouraged to verify their contact information, choose how they want to receive alerts (text, call, email), add additional locations (home, work, family), and customize the alerts received.

Why does this matter?
This upgrade gives residents more control, faster alerts and better information when it matters most.
The EMA asks that residents don’t assume they are covered, and take a minute today to verify their information.
