Charlotte Marie Matthews age 72 of Scottsboro, passed away on Wednesday, January 28, 2026. A private service will be held at a later date.
Mrs. Matthews is survived by her husband, Sherman Matthews; daughter, Freada (Ron) Mauldin; sister, Brenda Swafford; two grandchildren; and two great grandchildren.
Mrs. Matthews was preceded in death by her father, Rice Swafford; mother, Estelle Swafford; and brother, George Swafford .
Mrs. Matthews loved Jesus, worship music, and old hymns. She enjoyed spending time with family, shopping, listening to music and taking trips to Gatlinburg with family. She made everyone around her feel warm, welcomed, and special. She especially loved her grandbabies.
