SCOTTSBORO, AL – The Office of the District Attorney of Jackson County is pleased to announce that on February 11, 2026, a conviction was secured against Michael Ross Brown for the charge of Theft 1st Degree (Motor Vehicle). The case, which was prosecuted by Assistant District Attorney Taylor Garner and District Attorney Jason Pierce, concluded yesterday following the presentation of the evidence surrounding the taking of a motor vehicle from the Larkinsville area.
Assistant District Attorney Garner stated, “I would like to extend my gratitude to the Scottsboro Police Department. Their exemplary work and rapid response were the deciding factors in this case. Thanks to their professional diligence, the stolen vehicle was located and recovered quickly, returning it to the rightful owner in an undamaged condition. It is this level of commitment to public safety that allows us to hold offenders accountable and protect the property of our citizens.”
Following the verdict, Circuit Court Judge Graham scheduled the sentencing hearing for April 8, 2026, at 1:30 p.m.
