David Keith Blizard recently announced his candidacy for Jackson County Commission District 1.
Blizard stated, “I am proud to announce my candidacy for Jackson County Commissioner representing District 1 as a Republican.
With more than 25 years of management experience in planning, budgeting, procurement, construction, project oversight and P&L leadership, I bring practical experience in managing resources responsibly and delivering measurable results.
Throughout my career, I have been responsible for planning and executing complex projects, managing budgets and ensuring accountability in every phase of operations.
These principles – responsibility, efficiency and transparency – are exactly what I will bring to county government.
Taxpayers deserve leadership that understands how to manage resources carefully and make decisions that benefit the entire community.
While I am seeking to represent District 1, it is important to recognize that county commissioners vote on issues that affect all of Jackson County.
Every decision made by the commission impacts our county as a whole – from infrastructure and budgeting to economic development and public services.
My commitment is to represent the interests of District 1 while also making thoughtful, responsible decisions that benefit every citizen across Jackson County.
My priorities are straightforward: improving and maintaining our county roads, strengthening local infrastructure, supporting responsible economic growth and ensuring county government operates with transparency and accountability.
I believe in listening to the people I represent, working collaboratively and focusing on practical solutions that strengthen our communities.
Jackson County deserves leadership built on strong work ethic, sound decision-making, and a commitment to doing what is right for our families and our future.
I would be honored to earn your support and your vote.”
The primary election is set for May 19, 2026.
