Barbara Brandon Eakin, age 82, passed away on Monday, July 6, 2026. Funeral services were held on Saturday, July 11, 2026 from the Pikeville Church of Christ.
Mrs. Eakin is survived by her daughters, Sheila Eakin Tapley and Terri (Michael) Letson; grandchildren, Patrick (Katie) Tapley, Cody Tapley, Wyatt (Kate) Eakin, Callie (Ronnie) Williamson, Kyle (Kelsey) Cornelison, Lucus (Nikki) Letson, Makayla Letson; great grandchildren, Carter, Kenlee, Audie, Kylee, Olivia, Ava, Kinsley, Raelynn, Sammy, Serenity, Blue and Maggie; sister, Rhonda (Wayne) Peters; aunt, Shirley Holloway; as well as a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
Mrs. Eakin was preceded in death by her husband, Kenneth Eakin; son, Mike Eakin; brother, Stanley Brandon; and parents, John H. Brandon and Helen Brandon.
She met the love of her life, Kenneth, during her senior year of high school.
They were married within the year.
Their love only deepened through life’s many trials and joys.
Together they built a life rooted in devotion, resilience and commitment. That same love extended to their children.
Barbara was a true “Mama Bear” . She was protective, selfless and endlessly proud of her family.
Barbara’s strength and perseverance are what carried her family through life. That strength and perseverance is what she will continue to be remembered for.
