Scotty Edward Guffey, age 49 of the Swearengin Community, passed away Wednesday, May 6, 2026. Funeral services were held Saturday, May 9, 2026 at Oak Grove Holiness Church. Bro. Alton Willmon and Bro. Nicky Willmon officiated. Interment followed in the Gunter Mountain Memory Gardens.
Mr. Guffey is survived by his wife, Heather Lynn Guffey; his son, Jayden Alexander Guffey; his father, Larry D. Guffey; his sister, Kelly Guffey Cook and her husband, Steve; his nephews, Logan Cook and Ethan Cook; his sister-in-law, Melissa Darlene Smith; brothers-in-law, Donald Ray Avans and his wife, Martha and Jonathan Burns and his wife, Holly; along with nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, and cousin.
Mr. Guffey was preceded in death by his mother, Carolyn Guffey; his grandmothers, Louise Ragon and Dollie Guffey; and his grandfathers, JW Ragon and Edd Guffey.
Scotty was born on March 21, 1977 in Huntsville, Alabama to Larry & Carolyn Ragon Guffey.
Throughout his life, Scotty had a personality and style that all his own.
He was always “Scotty.” He was a graduate of KDS DAR High School and was a member of Oak Grove Holiness Church where he was very much loved. Scotty’s life and memory will forever be cherished.
