IMPACT Learning Center is excited to announce The Summer of IMPACT, a free summer program designed to bring creativity, connection and community learning to Jackson County residents of all ages.
Beginning June 8, IMPACT will offer a variety of fun, student-led classes at the IMPACT Learning Center, located at 23123 John T. Reid Parkway in Scottsboro.
Classes will include activities such as friendship bracelet making, journaling, creative writing, scrapbooking and more.
Some classes will be designed especially for children and youth, while others will be geared toward adults who are looking for a fun, welcoming way to learn something new, meet others and stay creatively engaged.
The Summer of IMPACT is built around a simple idea: students have talents worth sharing, and community members of all ages deserve access to meaningful, enjoyable learning opportunities close to home.
IMPACT is currently seeking students who will be entering the 11th or 12th grade, as well as college students, who are interested in teaching a class as part of the program.
Student teachers may choose a topic or activity they enjoy, and classes will be scheduled based on the student’s availability.
Participating student teachers will earn community service credit hours and receive a certificate of service from IMPACT Learning Center.
“This program gives students the opportunity to lead, teach and serve, while also giving our community a free and fun way to come together this summer,” said Amanda Sparks, Director of IMPACT Learning Center.
“Whether someone wants to teach a skill, try something new or simply enjoy a creative class with others, the Summer of IMPACT is designed to make learning feel fun, accessible and connected.”
All Summer of IMPACT classes will be free to attend. Class schedules, registration details and student teacher sign-up information will be posted online soon.
