On Tuesday, May 19, the Primary Election will be held across the State of Alabama. Polls will open at 7 a.m. and close at 7 p.m.
Those who choose to vote on the Democratic ballot will vote for the following: Alabama Governor, Alabama Lt. Governor, United States Senate, United States House of Representatives and Public Service Commission Place 1.
Those who choose to vote on the Republican ballot will vote for the following: Governor, Lt. Governor, United States Senate, Attorney General, Secretary of State, Treasurer, Auditor, Public Service Place 1, Public Service Place 2, State Board of Education Place 8, Jackson County Commission Chairman, Jackson County Commission District 1, Jackson County Sheriff, Jackson County Coroner and Jackson County Board of Education District 4.
Both ballots will include two Statewide Amendments. One of the amendments will be to allow no decrease of a District Attorney’s salary during his or her term. The additional amendment will allow Judges throughout the State of Alabama to deny bail when a Defendant is charged with discharging a firearm into an occupied dwelling or any conspiracy to commit murder charge.
