Donald Carrol Ward, of Grant, passed away on April 5, 2026. Funeral services were held on Wednesday, April 8, 2026 from the Grant Memorial Chapel. Dr. Chuck Conley and Dr. Steve Stanfield officiated. Interment followed in the Free Home Cemetery.
Mr. Ward is survived by his wife, Zella Ward; his son, Keith (Tammy) Ward ; grandsons, Evan (Melinda) Ward and Justin Ward; granddaughters, Shannon DeVault, Erin (Marc) Johnson, Megan Ward, and Taylor Ward; great grandsons, Ethan DeVault, Dane Johnson, Kai Johnson, and Koda Johnson.
Mr. Ward was preceded in death by his twin sons, Jeffrey and Gregory; and his parents, Bertha and Euel Ward.
Don was born in Enola, Arkansas and graduated from Quitman High School in Quitman, Arkansas. In 1959, he was drafted into the United States Army.
After basic training, he was stationed at Redstone Arsenal as a military policeman with the 291st Military Police unit.
Don met his wife, Zella, while working at Redstone Arsenal.
They were married in 1963. Don worked for Martin Industries in Huntsville for 22 years.
He retired as supervisor of the parts department in 1996. Don was a member of the First Baptist Church of Grant.
