Ellen Dabbs Long, age 77 of Grant, passed away on Tuesday, March 3, 2026. Funeral services were held on Friday, March 6, 2026 from the Grant Memorial Chapel. Bro. Leslie Curtis officiated. Interment followed in the Free Home Cemetery.
Mrs. Long is survived by her husband of 54 years, Archie Long; her sons, Todd Long and Jeff (Kristie) Long; her daughter, Lana (Shane) Long; her sisters, Olita Wooten and Juliette “Tootsie” (Gene) Baker; many grandchildren; as well as many nieces and nephews.
Mrs. Long was preceded in death by her parents, Arbie and Alma Dabbs; daughter-in-law, Lisa Long; and ten brothers and sisters.
Ellen was born on August 10, 1948 to Arbie & Alma Dabbs in Marshall County. Since the 1970s, Ellen had been a member of the Church of God of Prophecy where she taught Sunday school for many years.
She was also a wonderful singer. She retired from Teledyne after working there for over 20 years. Ellen was a loving wife and mother.
