Bertha Mae Matthews, age 78 of Bridgeport, passed away Tuesday, December 23, 2025. Funeral services were held on Sunday, December 28, 2025 from the Rudder Funeral Home Chapel. Interment followed in the Mt. Carmel Cemetery.
Mrs. Matthews is survived by sisters, Ann (Rick) Edmondson, Louise Henson; brother, Sam Pirkle; daughter, Laura Gaylor; four grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.
Mrs. Matthews was preceded in death by parents, Clifford Ellwood and Dessie Lorine Goins Bishop; and sisters, Wilma Jones and Suzy Pirkle.
