Charles Leslie Koger, age 87 of Grant, Alabama passed away Monday, December 1, 2025. A memorial service was held on Saturday, December 6, 2025 at Grassy Mountain Holiness Church. Interment followed in the Panquin Cemetery.

Mr. Koger is survived by many nephews, nieces, great nephews and nieces, and great great nephews and nieces.

Mr. Koger was preceded in death by his parents, Charles and Elizabeth Koger; his loving wife, Louise Smith Koger; and two sisters, Rachel Wright and Frances Roberson.

Leslie was born on October 8, 1938 to Charles David and Elizabeth McCanless Koger. Born and raised in South Pittsburg, Tennessee, he joined the Army National Guard Reserves as a teenager and was active for many years. In 1962, he moved to New York City where worked on the Long Island Railroad as a maintenance worker.

While visiting friends in Tennessee in 1965, he met the love of his life, Louise Smith. After a short courtship, they married on August 19, 1966.

Leslie and Louise moved to Grant, Alabama. After working at various jobs, Leslie got a job at PPG around 1973. Leslie and Louise bought a condo in Fort Myers, Florida and enjoyed spending many winters in Florida. Due to Leslie’s health and their age, they decided to sell the condo and remain at the little white house on Cottonville Road until Louise’s passing on June 12, 2017. Leslie remained at the house on Cottonville Road until his passing.
