Thelma Davis Kennamer, age 93, passed away on December 12, 2025. A graveside service was held n Monday, December 15, 2025 from the Free Home Cemetery.
Mrs. Kennamer is survived by her daughter, Shirley (David) Sanders; granddaughters, Emily (Jason) Dale and Laci (Josh) Barnes; sister, Katie Davis Norman; great granddaughters, Avery Dale and Lucy Barnes; nephew, Shane (Cari) Norman; and great nieces, Audrey Norman and Neeley (Matthew) Hager.

Along with her parents, Mrs. Kennamer was preceded in death by her husband, William G. “Doc” Kennamer.
She was born in Grant, Alabama on January 4, 1932 to Samuel E. and Bertie Sutton Davis.
Thelma was a devoted homemaker who provided tirelessly for her family and dedicated her life to them. She found great joy in the kitchen, whether she was cooking, baking, or canning.

Her home was always filled with the smells of good food, country music, and love. A member of the First Baptist Church of Grant, Thelma later attended Lifepoint Church, Smyrna after moving to Tennessee in 2012, where she formed many cherished friendships.

She passed on her values of hard work and her love of country music to her family. In her final days, she expressed with joy and peace that she was excited to meet Jesus. As she passed, the expressions of love from her family and “The Old Rugged Cross” played by her favorite singer-George Jones-filled the room.
